Barometer - JULY 2008

Where did it all go wrong?

Transfer Mayhem -  Most clubs change their kit every summer, but DCFC seem to like changing 80% of the playing staff too. Even by our standards this is a stupidly busy summer of transfer activity. Keep 'em coming Adam.
Tom Glick - It's not often you hear the words "likeable" and "American" in the same sentence. Comes across really well and quality TV ad proves we are now thinking way ahead of our rivals.
Lee Holmes - True Derby lad remembers his roots and turns down Leeds and Forest to sign for the freefalling, turmoil ridden Saints. Who said there was no loyalty in football? Or perhaps he just fancied living by the Sea!
The Championship - I've said it before but I'll say it again. Two games a week, loads of Midlands derbies, most games £10-£15 cheaper and the Rams can beat anyone. How is this second rate football?
Paul Connelly - How good is it to hear someone genuinely excited about playing for DCFC again? Good Luck Paul, the Spacerams are behind you already.

As 15.00 approaches, Adam Pearson starts to question Tom's decision to outbid the Queen & address the nation about matters DCFC on Xmas day.

Just when it couldn't get more complicated, Westlife and
N-sync have now made offers
to Bodde.

DCFC Catering -  A long overdue change in the franchise is happening this season. Will we get foot long hot dogs? Will people walk through the stand selling snacks from a tray? Will the beer be any better? Will the East stand Speed Bar still be run by Chinese people?
Ferrie Bodde Saga - I honestly can't recall a more tedious, drawn out pursuit of a player by DCFC. If we do get our man, he better be bloody good!
Carlisle Utd - Not content with imploding in the league and gifting promotion to the Red Dogs, they throw away a two goal lead and nearly let Leeds up as well! Thank god for Donny Rovers.
DCFC Website - Message to Tom Glick. If there is anyway we can get out of the premium TV contract, lets do it. The advertising overload is a major turn off.  But the site overall is generic, difficult to navigate and mostly very boring. My hourly consultancy rate is very reasonable.
Losers -  As a final footnote to last season, our players deserve all the abuse, criticism and worst ever awards they got. The Reading game was surely about as low as it can get for a football fan. This group of  players should always be ashamed of themselves, but probably don't give a fuck.

"I'm sorry sir, we no longer sell
Balti Pies. Have you tried our
new Bacon, double Chilli, triple Swiss Ram burger".
